Baby Steps to Coupon-ing
First, I just have to mention that the whole "extreme coupon-ing" thing can be very overwhelming. There is so much information to take in and it all seems very "over the top". Let me break this down into doable steps. If you take one step at a time and don't think of all that you have to do, you will get this and quickly find that you are addicted :)
1. Get coupons -lots of them.
(places to get coupons would be, the Sunday paper, magazines like the "All You" mag., gas station beverage coolers have "peelys", Walgreens has two coupon booklets, Procter and Gamble have a coupon insert that they distribute, there are the coupons that are printed at the register (catalinas) when you buy groceries and the types of coupons that you pull off the shelf in the grocery store. There are also websites where you can print coupons. KEEP your coupons until a good sale comes out and THEN buy.
2. Create your own filing system. Lots of people have a coupon filing cabenet with coupons filed according to month and store.
3. Watch coupons data bases (where they will tell you what things are on sale) http://www.hotcouponworld. com/forums/coupon.php and even create your own on a spread sheet if you think it will help. (I will make our personal data base public when we finish it)
4. ALWAYS look through store fliers. Walgreens has a section on the back of there flier that tells you what products will get you cash back. It is always good to combine these offers with coupons making the amount of $ earned a bigger number.
5. NEVER spend money on something that you will not use unless you are MAKING $ off of it to buy things that you DO want. :)
6. Buy lots of what is on sale. The "crazy coupon lady" you see in the store is buying enough to last her till the next time that item is on sale.
7. NEVER pay full price.
